THE  CAT

THE LETTER SUITE OF THREE BRONZE SCULPTURES

"The Letter Suite." brings to life the artist's vision.  A celebration of the sensual aspects of the female figure. He has sculpted what he knows rather than what he actually sees. Ed Colarik's bronze sculpture " The Cat", one of three from" The Letter Suite", is an allegory of a woman with the feline qualities of a cat. The artist renders her self-contained, aesthetically pleasing to the eye, with elongated arms and legs featuring a sensuous body positioned to evoke a desire to touch. But be careful, those sheathed claws are ever so dangerous. Some cats are warm and loving while others bite and scratch.  In the letter she is revealing her ever changing precepts. The artist expresses the belief that women will always remain a mystery to men. His art is never lascivious but always sensuous

Colarik's patina work and polishing of the bronze is an art on to itself. The bronze female figure is sensually posed laying on a patina bronze bed with the cat looking on. The bed appears to be a marble but in fact is a patina bronze.

Because bronze sculptures last for hundreds of years; Ed refers to bronze as the "eternal material", the artist enjoys creating in a medium that leaves a legacy for future generations.

Ed Colarik’s latest sculpture collection expresses a new vision that looks upon beauty in the search of truth. Sensual sculptures of a classical dream not seen before in bronze.
